Secret “Ingredient” Mac & Cheese
Whether out of the box or homemade, macaroni and cheese holds a special place for many of us as our first favorite comfort food. And now that we’re all grown up, it’s time to reimagine this beloved dish with a “secret” twist: beer!
Break out your crockpot, grab a six-pack of Secret Chief Stout and some simple ingredients and get ready to enjoy a rich, savory, mouthwatering take on an all-time classic.
- 1lb stew meat
- 1 tsp beef bouillon
- 1 cup water
- 1 12oz bottle Secret Chief Stout
- 1 tbl Creole seasoning
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Dash of salt
Add all the above ingredients to your crockpot and cook on “high” for 3 hours. Once cooked, add:
- 10oz pasta of your choice—rotini or macaroni elbows work well
- 1.5 cup milk
- 3 tbl butter
- 3 tbl flour
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (added in parts and stirred thoroughly in between)
- 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese (added in parts and stirred thoroughly in between)
Cook on “high” for 25 minutes and serve with a Secret Chief Stout on the side. Bon appétit!
