- 6 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 12 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (being from Oregon, we love Tillamook)
- 1 tablespoon fresh garlic
- 1/3 cup chives
- 12 ounces cold butter, cut into cubes
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 ½ cup Hop Valley Alphadelic IPA
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Add flour, baking powder, salt, cheese, garlic and chives to food processor or mixer and blend until well combined. Add cold cubes of butter, either pulsing with the food processor or mixing with the mixer until mostly incorporated (a few small chunks of butter is fine). Turn the device off, pour in buttermilk and beer then mix again until just combined. Drop dough onto a baking sheet with a large spoon (a 4-ounce ice cream scoop also works great). Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. For a bit of extra pop, sprinkle the finished biscuits with smoked paprika or Jacobsen flavored salt.
