The ideal packaging tech has spent a minimum of 6 months packaging a beverage. During work hours, the tech should be able and willing to show up on time, be able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly, and work a shift ranging from 6-12 hours. They must have the ability to stop and start all equipment present on packaging line, and possess all skills required of an entry level tech. They must be certified in forklifting by HVBC and have the ability to forklift both empty glass pallets and completed product. They must understand box erection and stamping, glass loading, label loading, casing, pallet wrapping, and proper pallet labeling technique. They must know all routines involving sanitation in the general packaging area, but not of the filler.
